Ayn Rand, the author of Anthem, continues to be a controversial philosopher. The philosophy she conceived of, called objectivism, comes into all of her novels. Anthem, in particular, highlights objectivist ideals by showing a dystopian society created on the opposite principal: collectivism.

 

Did that make any sense at all? Maybe not until we get a general idea of the two ideas: collectivism and objectivism.
