Daughters of the American History Essay Contest 2010-2011

Page history last edited by Jenny Rosene 13 years, 5 months ago

For those 8th graders interested in maintaining WJHS's dynasty on the Skokie Valley Chapter of the DAR American History Essay Contest, I've attached a the rules/regulations (pdf below) and included due dates, good research sites, a quick slide on this year's topic.

As indicated in class, this essay will be in addition to your regular class work. You might get pulled from class a few times, in which case, we will likely excuse you from that day's work. We will also evaluate and score the essay, but you will use the grade only if it helps your overall writing grade. Good luck!

Important Dates  Important Documents  Good Research Sites

Rough draft due Wednesday, November 10th

Final draft due Wednesday, December 1st

Depending on my feedback, students might/might not do drafts between the first and final.
